Decision Stands As ‘Bones’ Jones Loses Appeal

It was reported today that Jon ‘Bones’ Jones (9-1-0) lost his appeal of a disqualification ruling that was levied by Steve Mazzagatti at ‘The Ultimate Fighter Finale 10′ back on December 5, 2009 which officially ends Jones’ quest to maintain a perfect record through ten bouts.

The foul came after Jones landed a vicious series of ground and pound strikes which Matt ‘The Hammer’ Hamill (8-2-0) defended successfully for well over a minute. Fatigue and frustration seemed to set in as Jones grew weary of being unable to put Hammill away and decided to chang his approach by dropping north-to-south elbows that are considered illegal inside the UFC octagon.

UFC president Dana White has been critical of Mazzagatti in recent weeks due to a number of controversial decisions and fight stoppages, but it appears the referee got this one right. See for yourself and leave a comment to us know if you think Jones deserved the DQ:
